Johan Jooste
I began my photography journey in 1984 when I joined a local camera club in Windhoek. From the outset, I excelled, progressing through the rankings with relative speed. By 1992, I had earned my associate colours from the Photographic Society of Southern Africa.
Over the years, I have traversed Namibia extensively, capturing a diverse range of genres. Photography has become second nature after four decades of dedication to the craft. Since 2010 I established my own photography business and recently I made the switch to a "Mirrorless" system, a transition I embrace wholeheartedly.
Landscape photography is a passion of mine for several reasons. It allows me to travel and discover new places, and since landscapes are inherently static, I appreciate the opportunity to meticulously set up my shots and perfect the composition. Many of my captivating desert scenes were captured during specialized photo tours through the Namib Desert.
In addition to landscapes, I have a deep love for nature photography, particularly bird photography. The advancement in technology, such as shooting at 20 frames per second, has made this pursuit increasingly rewarding.
Another important facet of my photography business is sharing my knowledge and experience with beginner photographers. I conduct workshops aimed at nurturing budding talent and helping them refine their skills. For those interested, there is an opportunity to join a workshop linked on my homepage. Our passion for photography drives our commitment to capturing life's most precious moments with unrivaled expertise and attention to detail. We blend art and technology to provide our clients with unforgettable images that tell their unique stories.
